On July 13th, the PCC (followed by the Bishop of Kensington’s required permission) agreed to continue putting our services online until the end of August. This means that we will come together physically for the first time in nearly six months on Sunday 6th September at 10.30am!
We are excited about this, although we need to see what happens regarding the Coronavirus and to what degree the restrictions continue to ease. If nothing changes, then we shall be meeting with: 2 metres of social distancing, a limit of about 40 of us in the building (we haven’t made the exact measurements yet), no singing, no children’s/Youth groups and the length of the service would need to be about half of our usual Sunday morning worship. We would also have to leave as it ends, with no refreshments or chat inside the building.
So let’s pray that things will continue to improve and the current rules can be relaxed so that we can closer resemble the St Simon’s that we know and love – a Jesus-centred family – in many or all of the ways in which we express that! We will certainly be holding services from Sunday 6th September onwards, under whatever conditions. If you have any questions about this, do get in touch with Cameron or Sam in the church office.
